iPhone 5 was released on last summer. Some people were afraid that “My thumb reaches the top of the screen?”. Apple’s answer was the Ad “Thumb“.
“Your thumb, it goes from here, to here. This bigger screen goes from here, to here.”
But, some of my friends say that “My thumb, it goes from here, to here. This bigger screen goes from here, to there”. Their thumb doesn’t reach the top of the screen actually.
Is there help for them? I and Satoshi Omiya in webtron made a prototype. It allows you to travel views by swiping contents or bottom bar (Tab Bar/Toolbar). It makes you free from a cramp in your hands. Like it? Thanks for your feedbacks.

今年 (2012年) の夏、iPhone 5 がリリースされ、画面サイズがこれまでより大きくなりました。片手持ちをしている人は “親指が画面上部に届くだろうか” と心配しましたが、Apple からの回答は “Thumb” という CM でした。
“親指は、ここから、ここまで。この大きくなったスクリーンは、ここから、ここまで”
しかし僕の周りには、こう言っている人たちがいます。
“親指は、ここから、ここまで。この大きくなったスクリーンは、ここから、あそこまで”
やはり親指が画面上部に届かないのです。
こういった人々を救済することはできないだろうか。そこで、webtron の大宮聡之さんと共に、ひとつのプロトタイプを作ってみました。
画面のコンテンツ部分やボトムバー (Tab Bar／Toolbar) をスワイプすることで、画面を行き来することができます。もう手が攣りそうになることはありません。如何でしょうか、ご意見お待ちしております。

いいですね。
それほど指の長くない自分にとっては、iphone5を右手持ちしていると左上の戻るボタンが遠いので、両手で支えるか、本体真ん中でつかむように持ち変えることが多く、煩わしいです。
しかし、動画のようにスワイプだけで戻れるのは便利です。
また、画面ではなく「ツールバーやタブバー」のみのフォーカスで誤動作防止というのもいいアイデアですね。
このUIをAppleが標準化?してくれればなおいいのですが・・・
